Top Rock Albums - Metallica (the Black Album) by Metallica

If you ask any hard rock fan what was one of their favorite albums throughout the nineteen nineties and one of the most influential rock albums to date you should get no other answer than Metallica's self titled black album. Metallica's Metallica is to this day the number one selling album in the history of music sales and for very very good reason.
The black album was one of the most innovative albums in history. Metallica put a spin on the hard rock genre that no one had heard before and every one was liking a lot. Their Kirk Hammond's guitar riffs were powerful and electrifying and could send chills down your spine. The dark sound of the deep bass and James Hetfield's grizzly tone could take you somewhere you just couldn't go with the power ballads that were common around that time.
Songs like "Enter Sandman" and "Unforgiven" shed some light on the darker side of reality - fears and painful situations not so well explored previously and never in such an appropriately grim tone. Metallica's lyrics and instrumental dynamics was just the kind of black rock lovers were looking for when everything was shamefully colorful.
