Top Rock Albums - Revolver by The Beatles

The Beatles are known to many music lovers as the greatest rock band of all time. They've explored several types of music ranging from pop to rock to even folk. It should be no suprise that almost all of their albums are listed among the greatest rock albums ever. One such album is none other than the electifying Revolver.

Revolver was the beatles seventh studio album and was released in the year nineteen sixty-six on the fifth of August. Most of the album features a then hip electric guitar sound that was taking the world by storm which is a strange follow up to their previous folk sounding album Rubber Soul. Revolver rocketed to the top of the charts in both the United States and the United Kingdom and stayed there in the number one spot for several weeks.

Revolver features many Beatles favorites including "Eleanor Rigby" and "Tomorrow Never Knows" as well as a few tracks written by guitarist George Harrison. Probably the most influential track on the album was "Yellow Submarine" written by drummer Ringo Starr since it later became the subject of a beloved animated film that featured the fab four.
