Top Rock Albums - Aenima by Tool

Tool has always been a controversial and almost mysterious type of band. They're one of the previous generations leading performers in the progressive metal genre with a sound like no other. Aenima was their second studio album released on October the first in nineteen ninety-six. Aenima features not a single fear of insult or controversy with an album sleeve depicting a man possibly performing oral sex on himself as well as several songs that deal with topics such as deviant sexual habits, drug abuse, and out right blasphemy.

What's shocking is that Aenima is one of the best rock albums released in the previous century. Tool has an undeniable talent for mixing hardcore bass riffs and drum beats with some almost angelic guitar solos. Tool's front man and singer James Maynard Keenan can go from a terrorizing scream to a pitch perfect harmony in a single verse. Almost every song on Aenima is an emotional roller coaster with seemingly dark lyrics that can be interpreted into something very powerful. There are plenty of segues for a touch of twisted humor and not a single track will disappoint. Aenima is one of the greatest rock albums ever!

Hard Rock Artist Phil Anselmo Visits the New Orleans Saints

Former Pantera leader Phil Anselmo has made a visit to the Saints. You probably remember Anselmo from his band's huge presence in the rock scene in the ninties. If not you might remember him from the news stories that surrounded the tragic death of bass player, Dimebag Darrell, after his on-stage murder.

Anselmo is much more than just a hard rock artist. A huge fan of the team and the proud owner of a fleur de lis tattoo, Anselmo was welcomed with open arms. Anselmo went to high school in the area and has always remained true to his roots. This isn't his first contribution to his community.

During his visit Anselmo quaterbacked a youth team that is funded by the United Way. He also tried on Michael Lewis' super bowl ring and took a picture with the famous Saint's Super Bowl trophy.

You can visit Anselmo's record label's site Housecore Records, to see an interview conducted by Anselmo with tight end Jeremy Shockey. Shockey is known for his multitude of tattoos, which are enough to rival Anselmo's own ink.

The Passing of Dana Key

Dana Key, famous for his contemporary Christian music (CCM), took his last step towards the Promised Land on the 6th of June, 2010 at the age of 56 years. As a reaction to the popular rock and roll music which was not viewed favorably by most traditional and fundamentalist Christians, the Christian rock- a form of rock music played by individuals and bands focusing on matters concerning the Christian faith emerged and gained worldwide popularity. Dana was part of the legendary rock band Degarmo and Key. Dana is popular as a top rock musician, not only as a good guitarist, but also as a great music performer and a quality producer. After retiring from his band Degarmo and Key, Dana started producing music under an alternative rock label known as "Ardent Records" which was also instrumental in promoting young and upcoming talents for the rock music industry through TV shows. Indeed Dana was a man of God and so all his fans, friends and family are greatly bereaved by his death.

Exile On Main Street – Revisited

Rock music is a genre of popular music that originated in the 1950s from the rock and roll, rhythm and blues, and country music and also drew on folk music, jazz and classical music. The Best Classic Rock Music ever performed have mostly originated during the decades of the 60's and 70's. A short list of the popular rock music bands include Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones, the Doors, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Mountain, the Kinks, Boston, the Doobie Bros., Jethro Tull and Fleetwood Mac. The ever increasing popularity of rock music lies in the fact that it caters to all age groups and proves to be a mesmerizing experience as the conveyor belt of music talents roll on.

The popularity is well vindicated by the fact that nearly four decades after its original release, the legendary album "Exile On Main Street" has again hit the streets another time as The Rolling Stones re released the 1972 album on May 17th in the United Kingdom and on May 18th in the United States. The album possesses 10 new tracks which sound amazing and proves to be a good reason to revisit the classic.
